As far as I know, students may still use SmartMusic on their own devices or personal computers/laptops and can still join my classes using the same class codes. They just will not be able to use SmartMusic on their school iPad any longer. If SmartMusic is helping your student, please encourage them to keep using it if you/they have a suitable device available.
As for official assessment in my classes, moving forward we will revert back to the usual weekly Performance Assessment video submissions via Schoology. We may modify this as we continue to adapt to Distance Learning. Stay tuned.
My sincerest apologies for the hassle with this situation. Believe me– I am probably more frustrated by this than anyone.
